3 years

During the first two years, the applicant is trained as an industrial clerk, which is then completed by an examination taken before the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

       

Contents of the training:

 

The contents of the training are the same as those for an industrial clerk. The vocational college teaching takes place on one school day per week in the morning. This is to prepare the trainees for their Chamber of Industry and Commerce examinations for an industrial clerk. In addition, the trainees attend the administration and finance academy (VWA) in Essen three evenings a week. This may occasionally include Saturdays.

Here they receive teaching in the following subject areas:

 

  • Finance management (purchasing and production, personnel management, finance and investment, information management and accounts and sales and marketing)
  • General economics (general economics, macro-economics and micro-economics)
  • Law (including civil law, commercial law, labor law and fiscal law)
  • Mathematics (including statistics, data processing)
  • Basic methodology (soft skills): (public speaking, conducting a meeting, sales training, commercial English)

 

 

The course ends after six semesters with an oral examination and a dissertation.
